From WinkyPedia, the free encyclopedia that tells you what you already knew

Sand is a very large number of very small rocks. Each grain is smaller than a pebble, which is smaller than a boulder, making sand the junior staff of the stone world.[1]

Following you home

After a visit to the beach, about four grains of sand will follow you home. They will remain in your car, shoes and bag for between three and eleven years, and cannot be removed by any known method, including selling the car.[2]

Counting

Nobody has counted all the sand on Earth. The last team to try got as far as a medium-sized bucket and asked to be reassigned.
